Home Rehabilitation/Therapist Services

Physical, occupational and speech therapists will evaluate the client’s weaknesses and develop a plan for rehabilitation.

Physical Therapist (PT)

Physical therapists help clients regain their self-care skills in daily living. They assist with doctor-prescribed exercise routines aimed at restoring musculo-skeletal and joint strength and flexibility. They also assist and educate clients as well as family and hired caregivers on home safety and fall prevention, therapeutic and gait training, transfers, walkers, canes and assistive device training. Occupational Therapist (OT)

Occupational therapists assist persons with mental or physical illnesses or disabilities to achieve higher levels of wellness and functioning in dealing with activities of daily living (examples: grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, housekeeping). Read More

Speech Therapist (ST):

Speech therapists provide speech articulation therapy, cognitive retraining, and swallowing evaluation. Language impairment called aphasia is very common among those who have suffered a stroke, but aphasia is by no means the only condition where speech therapy might be warranted. A Speech Therapist provides corrective therapy to re-establish communication skills due to Receptive or Expressive dysphasia.

Medical Social Worker (MSW)

A Medical Social Worker assesses the home environment and provides counselling services. An MSW would also assist clients and their families with finding community and other resources, commonly free of charge, that would be of help to clients.
